NEW STREAMLINED Combat Example ZIP!!!
The older Combat Example was ripped out of a preliminary draft of the rules, and as such was merely a sample. This NEW COMBAT EXAMPLE for VERSION 2.1 of the rules has been built from the ground up to show a GUNNERY STRIKE in the game. FUTURE COMBAT EXAMPLES are planned as the year progresses to introduce the 4 other Types of Combat Strikes in Firepower Pass:
- MLS - Missile Strikes: deadly, as they may contain multiple waves, each an attack in itself!
- LAC - Light Attack Craft Strikes: deployed Wings of fighters and bombers attached to individual capital ship log sheets. Limited Range and vulnerable to all forms of Point Defense, but they can be very strong in the attack.
- ESC - Escort Groups: groups of ships rated Light Cruisers and below in size, and, like LAC Wings above, attached to capital ships log sheets. Longer ranged than most LAC Strikes.
- BRD - Boarding Actions, toughest of all to attempt, but victory captures a ship!
- Included in all non-Gunnery strikes will be the POINT DEFENSE/INTERDICTION procedure, showing you why it is important that ships in Firepower Pass operate in SQUADRONs rather then alone. The Interdiction Procedure is a simple set of game mechanics that integrate all of your available Point Defense systems and assets - PD Batteries, escorting LACs and ESCs - into an exciting but easy procedure for Point Defense that keep both attacker and defender interested in the outcome from moment to moment!
